Last week a small group from our Church spent two days hiking out in the Linville Gorge. The weather was beautiful and rainy. With steep climbs and slippery rocks going down, we were tested. Despite the conditions the Glory of God was everywhere. It certainly seemed at times we were walking in God’s Sanctuary, and His Glory made us feel completely alive.

In C.S. Lewis’ book, Till We Have Faces, he writes:
“It was when I was happiest that I longed most. The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back.”

All of God’s Creation reflects His Glory, it’s a wonderful thing that we can observe and share in it, glorifying and enjoying Him forever!

King David wrote: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalm 19:1
