This is an update on the Riddle family’s ever-changing seasons of life. One of the essentials for every Christian is having faith to pivot when God redirects paths. Instead of fighting God’s will, we find acceptance. “In acceptance lieth peace.” As Proverbs 16:9 rightly says: “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.”

The Bible holds out an eternal truth that for every door that appears to be closed, there are more being opened than we can possibly imagine. God is never doing just one thing; in everything, He is accomplishing a thousand things. Of the many, we might only see perhaps a half dozen.

This comes to mind with my oldest son Sam who many of you have prayed for. After four years with the Corp of Cadets at Virginia Tech preparing to be an Officer in the United States Marine Corp, he was honorably discharged for health-related issues shortly after his graduation. After much prayer, he has decided to attend Law School and will enroll this fall at The University of Tennessee. Our next set of prayers is how he will pay for Law school and a car to drive! As I reminded him (and myself), “The Lord will provide” … as He always does.

One more thing … the newest addition to our family is this little puppy we adopted last week that the children have named Dune. Half Labradoodle and half Retriever, he has been a great blessing to our family. There is never a dull moment in this place! “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD!” – Job 1:21
