“’…When did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or sick or in prison, and not help you?’ And Jesus answered, ‘Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for Me.’” Matthew 25:37-40

We all go through challenging circumstances, transitions, relational pain, and difficult seasons of life; and at some point everyone needs a little help. The Church of the Cross provides confidential care and support to those facing life’s spiritual, emotional, and physical challenges. If you or someone you know is hurting, please reach out for help.

If you are in need of pastoral care or would like more information about how to serve in any of the ministries listed below, contact Elisabeth Markle, the Care Ministry Coordinator.

1-on-1 Confidential Conversation with a Stephen Minister

Trained Stephen Ministers will share Christian friendship and confidential conversation with you through 1-hour weekly meet-ups. They will listen, pray, and encourage you through any struggles you may have for as long as needed.

Monthly “Caring Hearts” meetings allow caregivers to receive support, encouragement and useful information from other caregivers and a professional social worker. All group conversations are kept confidential.

Volunteers lovingly prepare and deliver free dinners to the homes of families and individuals who are going through a challenging time. This can be a one-time meal or repeated as needed.

This free service offers confidential, 1-on-1 financial counseling to individuals and couples based on Biblical principles. Money matters include debt and credit management, financial planning, saving, investing, and budgeting.

“Healing After Loss” (HAL) small-group sessions offer Christian support for those mourning the loss of a loved one with facilitators who have experienced loss in their own lives.

If you share a prayer request with the Church, an intercessory prayer team will intercede to the Lord specifically on your behalf during their weekly meeting.

Submit a Prayer Request

Holy Communion is available to those who are unable to attend a weekly Church service through either a direct mailing or home visit with trained Lay Eucharistic Ministers.

Active military members, veterans and their families are supported through letters, packages, prayers and special projects. The team supports local, national and international efforts to care for those serving our country.

Loving hands meet twice a month to make knitted and crocheted shawls, lap robes and baby blankets to present as gifts to those in need of comfort and cheer.

A friendly face will show up at your door for a short visit to bring cheer, comfort and prayers to those in hospitals, support facilities or the homebound. This can be a one-time visit or repeated as needed.
