The New Testament gives several examples of what is expected of a Minister serving God’s people. Faithfully teaching and preaching God’s word. Counseling, comforting, and taking care of the needs of people as well as performing rites such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
You can imagine my surprise when I was eating at Firehouse Subs to see a mural with The Church of the Cross plastered on the wall. Even more surprising is to see the Pastor with a Bible in hand following a fireman to the church. This was painted long before I arrived in Bluffton which means it can only be one person. Our own Fr. Chuck Owens!
This gives special meaning to The Apostle Peter’s admonition to a Minister; “Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly…lead them by your own good example.” 1 Peter 5:2-3
Thank you, Padre!
