The pandemic has quieted my agenda. While the world goes crazy with riots, politics, new technology controls, words that are not factual…at home, I pause to look to you each morning: I pray for the eyes of our nation to be opened to your will, dear Lord, and I wait patiently, dwelling in your Word for strength, for direction, for courage, for your way to be made known. I close my mind to the outside world, and dwell completely, solely on you.

Classical music fills my home…my body relaxes, my heart overflows with love, and in quietness my soul looks up to the One who fills me with courage, and hope, and  the unending peace which can only be found in Him.  And I meditate on these verses.

You are Father
we are the clay
you are the potter.
Isaiah 64:8

Do not conform…any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…God’s will…his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2

…you were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self which was being corrupted by its deceitful desires to be made new in the attitude of your minds and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.  Ephesians 4:22-24

Put into practice…God will be with you. Phil 4:8-9

Do not merely listen to the word… and deceive yourselves. Do what it says…look intently…gives freedom…blessed in what he does.                James 1:22-25

…humbly accept the word planted in you… James 1:19-22

Oh, Lord, may I become so quick to listen, and slow to speak. Create in me, O Lord, this steady desire…to not be all, but to silently and humbly support your being, and radiate your light to the life of others.  Silence my tongue, dear Lord, lend my ears, pour love from my heart, as I walk this earthly journey.

I can do everything through him, who gives me strength.  Phil 4:13

…and my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.  Phil. 4:19

The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.  Psalm 118:14

And my favorite life comforting verse…
In repentance & rest is my salvation;
In quietness and trust is my strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Only when we are still, away from the busyness of each day, can we become focused.  Only then can we see more clearly, as we become aware of the fogginess within and around us. Only then can we look intently to our Savior and feel His ever abiding love and peace.

Get Involved with Our Ministries

One of the most important ways to get connected at The Church of the Cross is to first become a member of our congregation. If you are not a member and you are interested in learning more about membership, please call the Parish Office (843.757.2661) and speak to Sue.

Membership begins with an informal meeting with clergy. The next step in getting connected would be joining a Bible Study or small group to be in community with other Believers.

Pray

Want us to pray for someone in need? Submit a prayer request (with their permission) and your prayer will be communicated with our clergy, Church staff, and Intercessory Prayer Team volunteers.

The person will remain on the prayer list for four weeks or until the office is notified otherwise.

Give

Everything we own and everything we have comes from God. So, when we give, we simply offer him a small portion of the abundance he has already given to us.

Giving is an expression of our thankfulness and praise to God, and there are various ways to give at The Church of the Cross.
