At our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, Tim Edwards, Jennifer Drury, and The Church of the Cross Youth assembled nearly 50 care packages that were mailed individually to our college-age men and women who have grown up connected to our Church. These boxes were stuffed with gift cards, goodies, handwritten letters, and most of all love to say that we care. It was only possible because of gifts given by parishioners and the Rector’s Discretionary fund. We have now received countless emails, texts, and even phone calls saying how much these boxes have meant. Below is one such text which I received:
“I picked up the mysterious package today and read who it was from and instantly shed a tear … I have prayed time and time this semester, and I’ve asked for these signs to keep me on the track of God, and little did I know one would show up as a package. This means so much more to me than you know, and I thank God for you never forgetting about me.”
Thank you, Church, for supporting ministries like this, and most of all the people behind them that make it happen.
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the Church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” ~ Ephesians 3:20-21
