The summer has come to an end and our children from the youngest to the oldest are returning to school. Sam leaves next week for his sophomore year in the Corp of Cadets at Virginia Tech, Will enters his senior year at Bluffton High School and Rachel will be a junior. Our three youngest, Katie, Josiah, and Fielding, are all a part of Cross Schools.
It’s been a particularly exciting time for Lisa and I watching what is happening at Cross these last two years. The Head of School, Dr. Brad Schultz, has brought an energy and innovation that has electrified this community. In the last two years we have seen 52% growth, a 98% retention rate and every grade has at least two classes. We have added multiple sports and a new football program headed by our first coach, former NFL All-Pro Linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons, Mr. Keith Brooking. Watching up close what God is doing I feel we are on the edge of something borderline phenomenal. So much of this has been possible because many of you sacrificed to see this happen. Through you, we have lit a candle by God’s grace in Bluffton as I trust shall never shall be put out.
