I have just concluded the third week in a four-part series on Music: The Language of God. It has been an absolute blast unleashing, week after week, one of God’s greatest offerings … the gift of Music. On Sunday, October 10th, we are going to conclude with a Night of Worship at The Chapel. Worship teams from all three services will be present as well as a full choir, and what a night it will be! C.S. Lewis wrote: “We delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation. It is not out of complement that lovers keep on telling one another how beautiful they are, the delight is incomplete till it is expressed.”
When you hear music that touches your soul or see art that takes your breath away, it brings personal and individual joy. However, when you can share it with others who appreciate it as much as you do, the joy is magnified. C.S. Lewis reminded us, “The Scotch catechism says that man’s chief end is ‘to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.’ But we shall then know that these are the same thing. Fully to enjoy is to glorify. In commanding us to glorify Him, God is inviting us to enjoy Him.”
Our Night of Worship will surely be a part of this.
Continue to glorify God and enjoy Him forever!
