Eight sisters in Christ and I entered into a three month season of prayer, study and contemplation (a requirement for admission into The Daughters of the Holy Cross)- A new women’s ministry starting in the Fall.

As I move forward with my commitment to The Daughters of the Holy Cross, I want to make the following statement my vision and life mission: “Knowing Christ and Making Him Known.” I want to wake up every day with this as my focus. Through these past months of study and fellowship with my sisters in Christ, it has caused me to search my heart and ask myself- have I really made Him the focus and have I really been faithful to make His focus my focus daily?

A biblical Christian is defined as one who is in an abiding relationship with Christ. Abide means to continue to remain connected, to make your home, to be in relationship. Jesus says apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Abiding is about fellowship with Christ and getting to know Him. I believe that as I continue an abiding relationship with Christ, The Daughters of the Holy Cross will give me to the tools to produce fruit in God’s kingdom. As I have prayed during the past 3 months I truly feel called to take the vow of the Order and to live a life of Prayer, Studying God’s Word, serving others and evangelizing.

I share the Vision of the Order that we are guided by Holy Scripture. That, the Order is to be a community that nurtures and empowers its members in their life in Christ. We are called to be servants of Jesus as He unites and builds His body, the Church.

My prayer is that every day I will find a way to experience Christ. Through my daily time of prayer, worship, study, service and sharing Christ’s love to others; I feel I will be knowing Him more and more and making Him known in a deeper more meaningful way. The DHC cross will be an outward sign of my commitment and devotion to Jesus Christ.

Please join us July 20, 2019, at our 5:28pm service. We will have an Institution Service for the Esther Chapter before Communion and the eight new members will receive their DHC crosses.

New ministries give rise to new opportunities to grow into the servants God wants us to become. If you would like more information about The Daughters of the Holy Cross, please let me know beckyo@hargray.com.

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:2

Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men, because you know that you will receive and inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Jesus Christ you are serving.

Get Involved with Our Ministries

One of the most important ways to get connected at The Church of the Cross is to first become a member of our congregation. If you are not a member and you are interested in learning more about membership, please call the Parish Office (843.757.2661) and speak to Sue.

Membership begins with an informal meeting with clergy. The next step in getting connected would be joining a Bible Study or small group to be in community with other Believers.

Pray

Want us to pray for someone in need? Submit a prayer request (with their permission) and your prayer will be communicated with our clergy, Church staff, and Intercessory Prayer Team volunteers.

The person will remain on the prayer list for four weeks or until the office is notified otherwise.

Give

Everything we own and everything we have comes from God. So, when we give, we simply offer him a small portion of the abundance he has already given to us.

Giving is an expression of our thankfulness and praise to God, and there are various ways to give at The Church of the Cross.
