You're Not A Sinner!
I was recently sharing the Gospel with a nice young man who lives in Bluffton. He knew I was a priest. I told him I was a sinner in need of a Savior. His response was surprising. He blurted out, "You're Not A Sinner!"
What he meant was I and most people probably have not done anything society would consider worthy of incarceration and if this is the case how then could we be sinners? I told him it was true I had not committed murder or any serious crime that would put me behind bars, but God being perfectly holy, righteous and perfectly true, had a standard of perfect holiness, righteousness and truth that far exceeded my ability to live up to each day of my life.
He said, "Well, then, I guess we are all sinners!" "Yes, we are all sinners in need of a Savior and my Savior is Jesus Christ," I told him. I wish I could say this man asked Christ to be his Savior. He did not. I do believe a seed was planted though.
I can tell you without a doubt I am a sinner, I need a Savior and my Savior is Jesus Christ. Let me ask you this, "Are you a sinner?" "Do you need a Savior?" "Is your Savior Jesus Christ?"
Your honest evaluation of yourself and answer to these questions have eternal implications. Be sure you know where you stand.
In Christ Alone,
