As some of you are aware, I had surgery last week. All is well and I'm recovering, and should be back this week at the Historic Calhoun Campus.

I was reminded again last week as I was going under the knife that our lives are always in God's Hands. I'm usually on the other end as a Pastor, sitting with people before surgery. If you've had surgery, it often goes through the mind, "What happens if I don't wake up from this?" What appears to be routine turns into something very realize how little control you actually possess.

This is the great illusion, how much control we think we have. In reality, every single day is like surgery, so many variables that are out of our control, so many things, people, world events that we have absolutely no influence or way of changing. We think we do, but we don't.

In the end, our lives and futures are completely in the hands of God, and the more we realize this, the better off we are. We can live life thinking it's all up to us, but we know deep in our hearts that its all up to God. It's in this that we discover "..the Peace of God which passes all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7

Glorify God and Enjoy Him Forever,

Pastor Jonathan
