This past weekend a large group of volunteers both inside and outside of our congregation gathered on the Cross Schools Campus for the Stop Hunger Now Campaign. The vision and mission is simple: a world without hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-saving aid to the world's most vulnerable by creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.
It was an incredible event and one of my highlights since arriving here at The Church of the Cross two years ago. In a little under two hours we created 15,000 meals to be shipped directly to Haiti.
According to World Hunger Statistics, nearly 21,000 people will die of starvation each day. Through our church's effort we literally saved lives this past Saturday. What is that worth? Through a little effort and planning we nearly wiped out starvation in our world for a day. I'm so proud of the Thursday Morning Mom's Group who began this entire event and our congregation who backed it. I pray this is just the beginning of another great initiative for God!
Glorify God and enjoy Him forever!
