Pictured above are the two sides of a card distributed at the conclusion of the annual "State of the School" gathering held this Monday evening. After opening the event with prayer, I listened in awe as Mr. Frank Byrd, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, reviewed Cross Schools' recent accomplishments and Dr. Brad Schultz, Head of Schools, cast a vision for the innovative educational approaches to be launched this fall across all grade levels. (click here to see a one minute recap) As a former Headmaster, I could visualize excited students eagerly embracing new experience-based methodologies and reaping the benefits of the resulting gains in knowledge retention. Upon hearing that the high school would open in 2020, I wished that my grandchildren would have had the privilege of being shaped from preschool through twelfth grade in such a stimulating, Christ-centered environment. The buildings now rising on the campus will be completed this July; but in a greater sense, Cross Schools will never be completed . . . as is presently the case, it will constantly be evolving so as to meet the challenges and seize the opportunities inherent in preparing those who walk its halls to achieve their God-given potential. The Schools' legacy will not be in steel and stone; rather, its legacy will be its graduates shaping their world in God-honoring ways for generations to come . . . praise God!
