For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things have been created by Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16
Last week our Church celebrated The Blessing of the Animals at Cross Schools and on the Historic Campus Bluff. It was special to see people's love for their animals, but even more so because we're living out a Gospel mandate, "To glorify God and enjoy Him forever." The Psalmist writes, "The stars declare the glory of God. The earth is full of God's glory if we will but stop to examine it." (Psalm 19:1)
God created animals before the Fall of Man, and said "It is good." God went to great lengths to preserve them during the flood. As I covered in my "Heaven" series, the presence of animals are mentioned in the future Heaven and Earth (Isaiah 11).
All this goes to say, in a small way because animals are God's creation, they reflect the Glory of God. Take the time to enjoy all that God has placed before us - whether nature, animal, or His greatest creation, each of us.
