Annual Bazaar and Arts Festival

This is an indoor and outdoor event held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. We have artists from the Church under tents on the lawn and homemade Christmas crafts, canned goods and baked goods inside the Parish Hall. Most everything is made by the artisans in our Crafters Guild. The Men of the Cross will also be selling refreshments. We need lots of volunteers for this event to be a success and a blessing to the Church as well as the community. There will be sign-up sheets posted in the Parish Hall.

Bluffton Village Festival

This is an outdoor event enjoyed by thousands every on the Saturday before Mother's Day. We are one of the many food vendors. We make Shrimp Salad and Chicken Salad Sandwiches which we sell under a tent in front of the Church gates on Calhoun Street. We need several volunteers for this event. Canning Committee

We work on jams, relishes, pickles and chutneys during the peak seasons for fresh fruits and vegetables. If you wish to learn how to can or assist with the big projects (primarily during the spring and summer months), contact Sandra Morgan.

Crafters Guild

We meet in the kitchen of the Parish Hall every Thursday morning beginning the first Thursday in March. The crafters meet weekly in preparation for the Annual Bazaar and Arts Festival in November. Daughters of the King

The Daughters of the King is an Order for women willing to undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. By reaffirmation of the promises made at Baptism and Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to spreading Christ’s Kingdom and strengthening the spiritual life of the parish. For any woman who is interested there is an information class in the spring at which time they can find out all about it and decide if they are called to join.

Junior Daughters of the King

What is Junior Daughters of the King?
This is a ministry lead by a team of adults who are dedicated to mentoring young girls in prayer and serving the Lord.
Why get your daughter involved?
It an excellent opportunity to have your daughter mentored by Christian adults with a heart for leading young women into a closer relationship with God.
Who can participant in Junior Daughters of the King?
Any girl between the ages of 7 and 12.
This ministry meets once a month on the 4th Sunday of the month during which time the girls are taught a lesson surrounding an activity ranging from preparing a meal together to learning how to knit. Expectant Moms Ministry
|
|
|
This ministry is designed to assist and support expectant as well as adoptive moms though prayer, meals, counsel, mom to mom support, home communion, and hospital visits. The ministry strives to meet each mom where they are and works to support them in the all ways best suited to their needs. If you are expecting or know someone who is please contact Sheri Buda.

Funeral Guild

|
We are responsible for the planning and instrumentation of funeral receptions at The Church of the Cross. The Funeral Guild is comprised of two teams. The CCW Funeral Guild Food Team prepares food along with other volunteers according to the needs of the family. The local chapter of the Order of the Daughters of the King carries out the planning, serving, and clean up for each funeral reception. Together they work to ensure that each funeral reception is tailored to accommodate the needs and desires of the loved one's family and friends. Mom's Ministry

The Mom’s Monday Morning study is a biblically-based support group for moms in our church and community.
Together this group nurtures and equips one another so that each woman can realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. It includes quality instruction in parenting, small group discussion, and the interaction of more experienced mothers with younger moms. Newcomers are always welcome and childcare is available with advanced notice.

Shepherding Miinstry

Shepherds reach out to touch new women members with Christan love and hospitality. We introduce them to the facilities, activities and ministries of the Church. Wedding Guild
|
|
|
Wedding Guild members offer assistance to those involved in the wedding party. The bride has one meeting with a guild member and the Parish Administrator prior to the day of the ceremony. Then at least two guild members attend both the rehearsal and the ceremony. In addition to specific tasks to assist the Officiate, the guild is present to serve the bride and her guests.
