Who can get married at The Church of the Cross?
At least one of the parties to a proposed marriage must be an active member of The Church of the Cross for at least one year. Confirmation classes are held each fall for those who have not been confirmed. Application forms must be completed and returned, a meeting with the Rector held and premarital counseling completed before the proposed wedding date is set and announced.
Children or grandchildren of active members of The Church of the Cross may also be married in the church, with provisions:
1) they must be active members of a Christian church where they reside; 2) they must receive counseling from their home priest; 3) we must receive a letter from their priest indicating that counseling has been completed and that he/she recommends the marriage.
There should be at least three months between the initial application and intended date of the service.
Regarding previous marriages
The Bishop reserves up to thirty days in which to reply to an application for a second marriage. One full year should have elapsed between the date of a final decree from a previous marriage and the date of the proposed marriage. The Diocese of South Carolina does not bless or solemnize third marriages at the inception but rather after the completion of one year of marriage.
Please speak with Risa Grace at the church office 843.757.2661 ext. 200 for scheduling a wedding.

Small Groups are composed of men and women who meet weekly throughout the area focusing on making disciples and reaching those who do not know Christ or want to know Him better.

At The Church of the Cross we have a ministry called Connections that will help answer questions and provide information for participants to discern how the Lord created them and where they are being called to serve.
Connections is a Bible-based ministry that is offered quarterly and is designed to help Christians discover their unique God-given gifts. The team that leads this ministry serves by helping Christians to learn and strengthen their relationship with God by understanding the Spiritual Gifts, Passion and Personal Style He has given them.
If you would like to participate in the Connections Class or learn more about any of our ministries or opportunities to serve, please contact the Church office at 757-2661.
