Ruwach Counseling - Bluffton, SC

Ruwach Counseling has a satellite office in Bluffton. The services of Ruwach Counseling are a ministry of the Church; this means that consultations are co-sponsored by The Church of the Cross. It is our goal to ensure that everyone who reaches out is ministered to in a way that will lead them closer to the Lord regardless of their financial situation.

The expenses of this consultation and future sessions will be charged to the Church in their entirety. However, it is strongly encouraged and advised that persons who are seen by Jim or Acton Beard take ownership in their process by making a donation to the Church, as they are able.

Please keep that in mind as you make your donation to the Church to off set expenses and thereby make it possible for this ministry to reach as many as need its services.

About the Beards

Acton is a Licensed Professional counselor (LPC) in the State of South Carolina, a Supervisor Professional Counselors (LPCS), a board member of the South Carolina Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and a clinical member of the American Association of marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Jim is a Licensed Professional Counsel or Intern in the state of South Carolina and a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). Though they use a variety of the oretically based therapy techniques, Acton and Jim are devout Christians, who believe that Jesus is “the healer” and is faithful to heal damaged emotions, relationships, and lives if attitudes are right and committed efforts are made.

Jim and Acton have been involved in many lay witnessing and disciplining ministries over the years, including spiritual gifts, marriage retreats, Kairos prison ministry, and the healing and reconciliation of survivors of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, Africa. They both have served as consultants to churches and church organizations, and Acton has extensive experience working with women’s groups, leading retreats and seminars on a variety of Biblically based topics.

The Beards have been married for 37 years. They have three children, and five and ½ wonderful grandchildren. The Beards are currently based in Pawleys Island, SC and together operate Ruwach Counseling and Consulting Services.
