The American Heritage Girls is a ministry of The Church of the Cross serving girls ages 5 and up. It is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, Family, Community and Country.
Critter Management helped us earn our Nature and Wildlife Badges!
AHG Troop SC1412 had a great 2015-2016 year!
- We finally had our First Annual Camping Trip! The day started out with rain, but praise God the rain ended and everyone had a blast!! The girls worked on the Fire Building, Hiking, and Camping badge.
- Gulfstream came to a meeting in November and gave an awesome 3D presentation, complete with 3D glasses and a 3D printer. We contined to work on the Engineering badge by making marshmallow launchers.
- Our Troop continued to be committed to service projects. AHG's National Day of Service coincided with Bluffton's 27th Annual Beach Sweep/River Sweep this year. Our troop picked up trash along the beach and parks in Old Town Bluffton. For the fourth year we volunteered in the the Food Bank at The Church of the Cross over the Thanksgiving break. We also made Christmas cards for our military serving over seas. In addition, we continued to support our "adopted" child, Rebeka, with Compassion International.
- We participated in the Bluffton Christmas parade for the fourth year in a row. The girls have so much fun singing, handing out AHG information cards and candy, and waving to the bystanders. This was also our fourth year caroling at NHC (National HealthCare Corporation). This is always a fun time and such a blessing to the girls and the residents!
Please join us for our next bi-weekly meeting at Cross Outreach Youth Mission Mall, 15b Centre Street, Bluffton (see map below) from 6:15-7:30pm.
